Arlington House : Before / After

Remodel of the Kitchen, Bath, and Fireplace
Project Info

Kitchen

Our customer in Arlington Texas wanted to brighten up their dark and dingy kitchen.  These before/after photos of the kitchen shows the stale cabinets florescent lighting and dark red counter tops. We worked with the customer and came up with a plan to work on the walls, appliances, cabinets, and counter tops.

During the demo of the kitchen we removed the old rectangular fluorescent light boxes and replaced them with updated recessed lighting. We also added some additional pendant lighting.

We removed the old counter tops and small back splash.  We installed new counter tops with Santa Cecilia granite and 4 x 4 travertine for the tile backsplash.  It was decided to utilize the under mount type for the sink with a new Moen Faucet. This allowed for a clean surface to work on.

The removal of the old vent hood and range allowed for a much needed upgrade to a stainless steel microwave oven and  stainless steel range by Whirlpool.

The cabinets were basically in great shape, so they were just refinished.  They were sanding down and stained with Kwal stain.

To finish off the kitchen renovation we removed the old wall paper and placed a new texture to provide an up-to-date look just like what the customer was looking for.

Bathrooms

Next renovation was the upstairs hallway full bathroom. It was completely remodeled. The shower was updated with new glass surround, the tile was replaced along with new faucets.  There was an addition of a beautiful bowl sink installed on a granite counter top.

Since we were replacing sinks, the customer requested that we update the old sink in the second bath.  An elegant “gold” sink was selected to replace the old sink.

Fireplace

Next on the renovation list was the living room fireplace. The old brick was covered with a white veneer. This helped to provide a crisp clean look.  A new mantel was installed, along with a new granite hearth.  To finish it off, we installed a new fireplace insert and stained all the wood trim with a darker stain to match throughout the whole house.
The floors were also renovated. They were redone with engineered wood on the first floor, entry way, and formal family room.
